In an interview with Orthopaedics today, Professor Lars Engebretsen and Professor Stefan Lohmander state that better study design is required in future cartilage research.
They furthermore underline the importance of collecting reliable data through randomized controlled trials to provide better patient services. Establishing independent cartilage registries is also considered important to monitor the outcome of new surgery techniques.
