Torbjørn Soligard is a former PhD-student at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, where his field of research has been prevention of football injuries, and injury risk analysis on artificial turf compared to natural grass.
In May 2011, Torbjørn defended his PhD thesis at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences: Injuries in youth female football – risk factors, prevention and compliance.
Torbjørn has a Master of Science from the Department of Sports Medicine at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, where he investigated surface-related injuries in football.
Torbjørn has for several years been an active footballer, but he has a versatile background from sports and enjoys physical training in general.
Torbjørn is now working as a project officer at the Medical & Scientific Department of the IOC in Lausanne, Switzerland.
