  • OSTRC at Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires

    Three former PhD-candidates from the Oslo Sports Trauma Researcher Center together with their mentor Professor Lars Engebretsen are present at the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in order to take care of the young athletes´ health.

    PhD-candidate Arnlaug Wangensteen from the Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital and Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center will defend her thesis on "Acute hamstring injuries – diagnosis and prognosis" at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.

    On August 23, PhD-student Arnhild Bakken will defend her PhD-thesis at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences on the following topic: "The benefits of periodic health evaluation in professional football - a focus on musculoskeletal screening".

  • AOSSM 2018 Cabaud award to Gilbert Moatshe

    Gilbert Moatshe MD PhD from the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute and Clinic in Colorado was recently awarded for being the first to identify an optimal graft tensioning sequence to preserve knee function during multiligament reconstruction.

    There will be 2 new PhD defenses at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center right after the summer break: Arnhild Bakken will defend her thesis on august 23, while Arnlaug Wangensteen will defend on august 30.

    Tuesday, June 26, PhD-student Stig Haugsbø Andersson defended his PhD-thesis "Injury prevention in elite handball" at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.

  • OSTRC trains Olympic sports medicine doctors

    Twenty physicians from all over the world traveled to Oslo to officially finish their 2-year distance-learning program in sports medicine. This was the fourth group of a total of 60 doctors to complete the Sports Medicine Diploma offered by the IOC.
